Artist Statement
My work is often driven by the use of particular materials and processes. I have found the experience of restricting the range of materials, and using a limited colour palette assist me with development of my ideas. I am attracted to ceramics; apart from the transformative properties of clay, I have found it addictive to work with, as the possibilities are endless. It may seem surprising for someone who likes to be in control, that the unpredictability of using this material is also part of the appeal.
For the most part I work with installations and multiple pieces. Mould making, therefore, is also apart of my practice and affords the opportunity to play with forms, and to transform and recreate objects.
